I'm going to be in Orlando near the end of February and I was wondering about cave diving in the area. Any suggestions for sites that are within 45-60 min drive? FC, BM, air/Nitrox no DPV...

No real caves are "open" in this area.
It is 130 miles to High Springs. You could stop on the way to/from.
gord neck and back 40, you can probably make it to eagle's nest in 40'ish minutes from Orlando.
*edit, sorry didn't see the air/nitrox.
Gordneck and Back 40 are still an option, albeit not very nice cave dives.
I was planning on stopping in High Springs, but thought I would see if there were any nice dives closer to Orlando that did not require trimix. The Google Earth FL springs database has so many springs I was hoping someone here knew of one that I was not familiar with.
Keep it up Santa! One day I'm going to get you to teach me how to side mount with a 1976 ScubaPro Stabilizer jacket:)
The only He dives I've ever made were surface supplied wearing a Superlite 17b and that doesn't count in cave country. One day I'll take an trimix class, hopefully sooner than later...
How many miles is it? Can't be much more than an hour. Admittedly, I do drive faster than most. Orlando to Peacock is 2 hours. Orlando to Key Largo 3.5hours.
I do it every Sunday. Leave my house at 5:45, load up the doubles in the truck and meet buddy at Peacock at 8pm. Albeit my buddy has ditched me recently to enjoy the wrecks in S. Florida. :)
*edit, if memory serves it's 140miles from my door to bill's whips.
**edit again... according to mapquest 149.16 miles, door to door. That's an average speed of 75mph, and almost 100 miles on major highway where cruising speed is 85+
Okay, Eustis to Luraville. You had said Orlando.
I don't even average 90 on the crotch rocket.
(Okay, yes I do.)
