I've asked you before to stop tempting me with this!
Seriously, where are you located, and what kind of burn test time are we talking?
Can the body be cut down to UV18 size and the battery pack broken into two UV18 batteries???
Mark
Mark, I believe the UV-42 uses three of the batteries that the UV-26 uses two of, and the UV-18 uses two smaller batteries.
How old are the batteries and what are the burn test times?
Dive safe,
Celia
There are two batteries, not three and they can't be used in a UV-18.
Burn times easily around 2 to 2.5 hours or more depending on what your prop setting is and what your gear configuration is.
Ok, How old are the batteries?
When was the last burn test done?
Not trying to nag, just would like the information before making decisions.
Dive safe,
Celia
The batteries are a couple years old. Last burn test a year ago, however, I keep the batteries conditioned. They're stored inside in the AC. They're the Genesis batteries and came directly from Rodney at Submerge.
Given that the batteries cost about $228 each (http://www.batterymart.com/p-genesis...h-battery.html) this conversion kit is only a deal if they are still in good to great condition. It is in your best interest as the seller to provide information. Batteries fail with time. A burn test is a discharge using a know resistance that gives a time that can be measured at a resolution of a minute until the first battery has been discharged to 10 Volts. Do yourself a favor and borrow the resistors and take the 4 hours (while watching TV, etc) to get an objective measure of the batteries. you will probably get more for your pack.
While you are at it, post some photos.
I am surprised by the number of people selling scooters that do not take the time to provide a measurable rating of the batteries they are trying to sell.
I pm'd about this pack early on, but was uninterested in driving to pick up an unknown quantity.

Lowering price to $400. PM if interested.
I was told it was two, two, three (as in my post above), but had I used logic I could have figured out that wasn't the case. How do you get 24v out of three 12v batteries? Technically, you could parallel two together and series them with the third, but that would probably pull an uneven amount of power from them...
