I was there last weekend, didn't dive, but the basins of Peacock and Orange Grove were both clear and blue. PI especially looked very nice from the surface.
Bonnett looked damned good too :/ wish it'd open back up.
Such irony. The cave diving community works to get more caves open and then self-closes those it has (bonnett because of a damn alligator, or Olsen because of the absense of dirt), or restricts their use (cow to only CDS members). Kinda reminds me what Jesus said, "no kingdom divided against itself can stand."
She was a no-show too.
Manatee was good too, even had a brown water snake hanging around the deco log in the main spring :)
Levy Blue, Rainbow River Springs, and a couple of the commercial places were all clear as well... FWIW.
I dove P1 on Monday and it was fine.
Are you sure? LOL
Even when you try to sneak up on her, the slightest twig snapping or dry leaves crunching under your feet and she's gone without a sound and you would never even know she's there.
If you show up in the parking area, talking with others about sneaking up on her and closing car doors, she will sit there but her senses are now on a code red level. Any movements in her direction and she's gone...generally into the spring itself.
I lived less than two miles down the road, went looking for her quite often and have an extensive hunting back round. The only way I could sneak up on her was either after a good rain when the leaves under foot were soggy or better yet, DURING a rain for the same reasons plus the noise of the rain masked my movements.
She didn't get that big from being stupid.
Peacock 1 to Cisteen Line. 40 to 50' visibility. Water temp 70 degrees.
2 man 1 woman CCR team.
106 bottom time no deco.
