Here's the story I was given:
There were two systems accessed from Ginnie's property, Ginnie and Devil's. Open water divers were dying in caves, and it was decided they would grate the Ginnie system (which was nowhere near as extensive as Devil's) to safely give open water divers a place to "experience what cave diving was about," and keep Devil's open for certified cave divers. So Ginnie was "sacrificed."
Over the years, it has worked out reasonably well.
how far back does it go? Are there any maps of it?

Here is the map from Walter's site.
Adding to the storied heard:
The cave behind it is very very fragile and silty. I believe Wes had explored this.

Go to cave and cavern list.
thank you so much XENIA.......cave princess.........
I seem to remember that access is still potentially possible via a sanded out area to the left of the sign?
... so if we see someone entering Ginnie with sidemount and two stages...
