I'm planing on being in the area and would like to come to the social. I also would like to make a couple of dives. Will I be able to tag along with some of you (can I get a buddy)?
Thanks

It all depends - can you run a grill?
Seriously, there will be plenty of people to dive with.
Grilling is to barbecue as tic-tac-toe is to chess. Barbecue is a fine art with a multiplicity of variables, where grilling is the simple and brief application of flame to meat.
It may be beneath the dignity of a barbecue chef to condescend to scorch meat on the lowly and plebian grill, but I don't believe for a minute that you can't do a fine job of it! :)
The people who have done the grilling at previous socials do the most curious thing: they put aluminum foil over the grill slats, so they are effectively frying the meat. I don't think I could do that. When I grill, the fat drips onto the coals and smokes back up to the meat.
GL isn't diving - we'll make HER be grillmaster!:ele
I think that's how you're supposed to do it. Insulating the meat from the smoky goodness with Al foil makes no sense at all!
I wish I could be there, but it's a little too far. Besides, I have to work - somebody's got to take care of the New Year's Eve revelers that mix revelry and automobiles. :(
But we're headed for Dive Outpost in 46 days! :)
