Adam: Are you a member of DAN? Might be worth a call to them....

For what it's worth, I havetinnitus. I've had it for many years, I suspect from working around military aircraft without always having the corrrect headgear. But it has never affected my diving, I don't get any of the symptoms you mention.
Obviously, in your case its a symptom of a bigger problem. But tinnitus, by itself, isn't cause to not dive and does not necessarily indicate a DCS hit. Unless I got the hit in my bathtub, since I hadn't learned to dive at that point.
I can see the ent saying dcs because the symptoms fit. Just not how it onset, the profile, or the gas mix. Which is why I can see the dmo's saying its not dcs. And I can see them saying berotrauma because of the symptoms. But I only got effects on my equilibrium once, and that was after breath hold diving in a 12' pool.
All I know is it happened at depth with no pressure change.
Oxygen has no effect on it.
Happens at first only below 75+ feet
Did go away after a couple days.
And tinnitus was the only symptom
Now it
Happens anytime I go under water diving or not.
Tinnitus with minor equilibrium problems (once)
Tinnitus has lasted. For a week and comes and goes
I think its not diving related but is aggrevated by pressure.
I am seeing the ent again Tuesday. They took a ct of my sinus and a inner auditory canal scan. He wants to scope my nasal passages.
Either way I am out of the water for at least a month

Also:
On previous dives of all depths both deco and nd dives I would finish the dive get out of the water and notice as I walked the ground seemed to bounce up and down. I thought it was sinus related and it would go away by the time I got to my truck. Maybe a 100yd walk. I did bno think anything of it. The ent said it was a inner ear thing that I am not trying to spell. But I wonder if over time I have develpoed somthing in my inner right ear that is growing or getting worse and was at first only sometimes bothered, but is now effected more because it is growing or getting worse???
where is Dr. House when you need him.
Did he order your bubble study?

Adam, I have been keeping up with this since it started and continue to wish you the best. So, what about the orders to Okinawa? Also, what happens if they can't clear this up and you can't dive, will you be medically discharged or just go back to your original MOS? I was just wondering. Either way, please take care and try not to get too many CTs. They are used way to often and each pass you receive about the same amount of radiation as 300 normal x-rays. I'll never stay inside CT bagging a patient again. Take care.
