It truly would not as all scuba tanks are technically "high pressure" vessels per the definition used by the DOT, whether they are called "low pressure", "high pressure" or "HP", so using high pressure is actually a broader term than the common use "LP" and "HP".

Aspirin and Band-aids are great examples of genericized trademarks. I'm pretty sure if Russell cut himself and asked for a Band-aid he wouldn't be to upset if I handed him an adhesive bandage made by Curad. If he did, I'd just have to let him bleed as that's what's in the first aid kit at the moment.

I didn't call it an HP-130. I called it an HP 130. Yes, I do think the absence of a hyphen makes a difference.

That wouldn't happen. I would ask for an adhesive bandage. I happen to know the difference. :roll:

So, Cave Divers Tape would work Russell? All I would have to do is put some gauze on the wound and it would then become a adhesice bandage.

I have done that with a Telfa(TM) pad and duck tape (originally developed by Revolite, but I have no idea what they called it - GIs called it "duck tape" so it was a generic term from the start).

Duct Tape, Duck Tape. Same thing. One is a brand name.

Over the years it has been called "duck tape" and "duct tape" with "Ductape" being trademarked in the 50's and "Duck Tape" being trade marked in the 70s after "duck tape" fell out of common use in favor of "duct tape".

Confusing huh? But it was originally called "duck tape" and that's my preferred term. Technically, only the silvery heat resistant, flame proof aluminized stuff is properly called "duct tape". But I'm not going to make an issue of it.

in argentina we call it grey tape(in spanish), so, does that matter?
