Don't get me wrong, you guys have a really great cave site, & awesome amenities, but as a customer, it kind of bites to be told that cave divers are not the major bacon bringer for Ginnie, and that we should just be grateful that we are allowed to dive there. So what are we, chopped liver?:-D

At no time, I agreed that we should be thankfull for being allowed to dive at Ginnie. Nevertheless, I do beleive that $20 does not buy me a bodyguard for my gear. Espesially when half of that goes towards insurance agaist lawsuits.

Besides the other on site comodities, you and I as cavediver customers, get a few advantages over other costomers. For instance, dive fees for cave divers is less than OW. And for those who actually have annual passes things are even more conviniet.
On pick times during weekends, I have seen Ginnie employees litterally ingoring campers, tubers, and hot chicks just to get a carpass and wrist bands to cavedivers. And that is when the average customer waits about 20 minutes to be told that he/she should fill paperwork rent a tube. Furthermore, tubers did not have a riot when Ginnie managment closed the Devil parking lot for everybody else but cave divers (that was during the floods). However, we as cave divers are always right because we dive on overhead enviroment and we don't use snorkels, and that makes as special.
I find so hard to undestand, why we are able to take great responsibilities while being in absolute darkness and hundered of feet from the nearest natural air supply, but cannot be responsible about our gear on the surface in midle of the day. Unfortunatly during summer Ginnie is busy as hell. It is up to us to either dive Ginnie and be aware of assholes thieves or dive a state park where you are asked to not exit the cave if you see a manattee swiming around (of course Peacock is different story).

But anyway, we both are waisting our time, because complaining is adictive and makes you feel good. Even if ginnie puts a sniper on the roof or brings SWAT, we will find something else to complain like having someone to carry our deco bottles and someone else to zip our drysuit.

Good points from someone who works at Ginnie and has helped me in the past. I do appricate some of the things you have pointed out. I just wish you did not have to watch you gear so closely. Maybe a place to lock equipement up like scooters and o2 bottles or cameras mounted near the steps might be something to consider. I do believe though that there are some people that case it at times. It would sure be nice to catch them.

One approach would be for US (from time to time) to adopt some civvy's attire; say, a Kenny Chesney t-shirt and a Stars & Bars hat, and spend some time unobtrusively 'eye'ing' the steps during SI's and otherwise unoccupied preening time...

No Miami Vice take-downs, just a snap of the digi-cam and a license plate record should suffice...

If you go to six flags and leave your purse on a seat whist you took a ride on batman, do you blame them if its not there when you get back?

Im not trying to be negative or say its OK to steal, just putting it in perspective. Assholes are everywhere these days, and Ginny is not immune to it.

Ok, I think this will work....what you do is get your suit on and carry your stuff down to the stairs at little devil, and throw it in the water. If there are any other people present, just blow their brains out with the locked and loaded M1911 Colt 45 you have in your right bellows pocket (cause well you're DIR trained). OK it's all smoky, and the water's full of blood and gore, but the flow will get rid of the mess, so just walk back up to the platform and loudly state that you got another clip in the truck and your gear better be there when you get back. Oh yeah be careful not hit any 02 bottles or scooters by accident. BTW no guns in the state parks but they're OK at devils.

As long as we're being nit-picky, the flag traditionally known as the Confederate Battle Flag is properly known as the Confederate Naval Jack. Battle flags were traditionally square, and Navy jacks were rectangular.

For those of you anywhere near Columbus, Georgia, the National Civil War Naval Museum is located here, and it's easily worth a 100-mile drive to see. Next month they are putting up a new exhibit of Civil War flags.

Hydroshocks will get you into trouble the ony dir approved 45ACP is the remington 230 grain copper jacketed ball ammo, never a jam. When I bag a big one I wanna get a clean wound in the head so there isn't all that lead splattering off the bone spoiling the meat. Oh yeah make sure you get the glands out from the armpit area ASAP or the meat will get tough.
