Wow, I really like that metaphor! Especially the fact that, even if the problem is solved and completely overcome, it's taken something out of you. The dive I turned started with a fin coming off, which got fixed, and continued with a seeping mask, which I was coping with, and went on to getting winded trying to get through the flow at the chute . . . I'd lost too many pieces of pie, and now I have a way to express that!
