Not joking around with my Florida born and raised Southern Grandma...! She could, as she used to say, put the big pot in the little pot. Not sure exactly what that meant but I know her Southern cooking was supreme.

Don't get me wrong... the problem with Florida food is not the cooks. I believe the problem is the soil. Everything from tomatoes and strawberries to milk and cheese, simply suck compared to the same from west coast soil. It's nothing personal, you guys were screwed from the start.

There is also that whole "warm water seafood" thing... I'll take cold water fish, crab, lobster, etc any day over the crap you get around here... and who eats this Grouper crap?

My favorite time of year in south AL, north FL is spring and summer when the tomatoes and strawberries are in locally (ever had a Slocomb tomato?) and I don't have to eat the trucked in bland crap from out west! To each his own.
