Many art museums and a thriving art community. From a personal point of view we need more art collectors. Lots of safe thriving neighborhoods. Plenty of good paying jobs even in a resession. All in all a great place to raise my kids. As per diving, from lower Lake Michigan to 3 Rivers Wi. offers someof the best wreck diving anywhere. The number of fully intact ships is awesome. The history of the area as the waterway to the west is very interesting. The season is short and the water is cold but to be honest my favorite time to dive here is mid April to early June. The cold keeps the nitwits off the lake and the vis is great (I have had 70 ft) Argon and dry suit with heavy underwear very highly recommended. I had a lot of fun with local dive clubs and in Feb we have Our World Underwaterthe largest dive indrustry show in the midwest. Then in March just about 1 hr away there is The Ghost Ships Festival in Milwaukee. The one big negitive is I am 7 hours to the nearest cave systems in either Missouri or Wi. As I get older the winters hurt more but then I spend most of January in Florida. Chicago has done me well.
