I can only guess that the hipsters want to drink a lot of beer for not much money and have atrophied taste buds!
What's wrong with PBR? And OM is pretty good if you're disciplined enough not to drink anything else. In High School (late '70s) we used to get USA Beer for $0.99 a six pack. Lowenbrow was still a good imported beer.
Yeah, the wife and I get a kick out of it when we go to this trendy little pizzeria in the town we live in. I'm not above drinking a PBR, but insist on the taste of a finer beer. Darn sure wouldn't drink one because I thought it was the cool thing to be doing.;)
I prefer red dog. Can't find it most places, but it's cheaper than PBR and OM, with a heavy hops flavor. The local beer store keeps a couple of 12-packs on hand and sure enough the one from last week is still there waiting for me the next week. I don't understand why I'm the only buying the stuff.
