For some reason I feel the need to participate in this thread.
1) This is what happens when wreck divers learn how to cave dive. Every dive is a scavenger hunt! I'm just kidding, so please put down your crowbars and sledges.
2) The Trash Room is/was an anomaly, which makes it significant to some degree. I believe that many never really viewed it as "trash", it was more of a time capsule.
3) It also acted as a good reminder of how easily the aquifer can be affected, and how a single person can affect it. It has acted as an education tool for the locales.
4) I've been diving there for over a decade, I never really considered the Trash Room visually stunning, but it sure looked better a few years ago than it does now.
