Sorry that you had a problem there. Rangers don't get paid overtime,and you wouldn't believe the number of times the rangers at Peacock have to stay 1 hour plus past posted closing time because people don't give due respect to the signs,but you never hear them complain to the visitors. If I might suggest it would probably be prudent to get to Jug Hole early since it takes quite a bit of time to haul gear back there,set up to do the dive,do the dive,haul gear back,and other sundries before exiting. Also,don't be surprised if a ranger may ask to inspect your gear for nonindigenous invasive plant species,they are very protective of this.
Do remember folks this place was closed for 3 years,and a lot of work was done to get it back open.
No worries, we learned our lesson. We were very respectful to the ranger and did not give him a hard time at all. We were both just a little frustrated because we left work early drove all the way up there just to get turned around two and a half hours before closing time. Next time I'll just tell my job I'll be coming to work a little late. :yawinkle:
