No need for the state to issue them - all Vermonters have their own snowshoes! :) (Just like da U.P.!)

There are often a few patches of snow left in early May. Green-Up Day was originally in April, but it got moved to May because of late season snowstorms. We still have plenty of snow - since getting back from Florida a month ago we've gotten 55 inches - including 6 inches Monday. I'm ready for spring.

None that i know of unless it is carved into the limestone, then it can be sanded lightly with another piece of limestone. I was able to effectively remove some carvings into the limestone on the slab at the entrance to mainland in ginnie that way and today you can't tell anything was ever there. Last week i noticed a lot of scrawling on the wall in the eye at ginnie...

I used to live on the I-090 drug corridor and we had to train our scouts and other school age children what NOT to pick up - i.e. trash dumped by meth lab operators as most of it is is toxic and a potential hazard.

That is unfortunately something litter related that has changed since the 1960's.

That sounds like a good idea!!! I wish people could show respect for the caves. I also supsect they dont show any respect for any thing else and that probably includes people.

X2 - I guess by now, nothing should shock me. However, it is easier than ever to get there, and will only get easier.

Way back in a system is a bit absurd, knowing its a trained caver. The writeing in OG is pretty shallow and probably could have been done holding ones breath. But thats the first thing I saw desending to the tree.

Any reason there's not a posted sign with something to the effect: $500 fine for defacing the ........
What are the state/legal penalties?

Heck: I'll pay for the sign if you guys think it will help and it's a legal sign.
