If anyone wants to dive in the morning/early afternoon , I will be hanging out by Devils...
OR if I can hitch up with someone.
Thanks!

A big thank you to Marissa, Russell, CDF, and others who made this social possible. You guys(gals) rock! This was my second social and I think there may have been twice the people this year than last year. I did not make the galaxy dive but enjoyed meeting and talking with some of you before and after lunch.
Thanks to all the donors who gave some nice prizes - lights, reels, spools, calendars, t-shirts, jackets, fleeces, memberships, cutting devices, AND a CO analyzer!. We appreciate you helping to make this event a success.
Happy New Year to all.
Great couple of days and the Galaxy dive was beautiful as usual. Thanks to everyone who helped, contributed and participated. I appologize for not being able to convince any of my girls to come this year, but thank you for all of the people who expressed disappointment at none of them being there. Next year they won't get away.
A big thanks to everone that helped to make this happen....and thanks to everyone for sharing their stories...I ahd a blast and look forward to seeing everyone in the future......
I'm back in Michigan and it friggen cold.........Have to just dream about the next time......

Thank you, Marissa, Russell, Mark, Tracy, CDF and everyone who contributed to the success of the social and the Galaxy dive.
It was great seeing old friends and making new ones. Given it was the first CDF gathering for my buddy and I, we appreciated how warm and welcoming everyone was to us. I love my newly acquired Trilobite Eezycut and replacement blades from the raffle.
Again, THANKS, everyone!
I can't wait to see a bunch of pics from this! I have not been to one of these in YEARS!!!!! Dang Army! I almost made it to this one as I flew home to Naples for a few days, but understandably my wife did not want to spend my one of three nights home up there and have to drive me to the Miami airport by 11 am. So everyone post pics and reports!!
few I took:

Thanks to everyone who helped put this on. Especially Marissa and Russell, without whom it seems this Social would not have happened this year. Giselle and I, and my three little monsters, all had a great time. This was actually our first tent camping trip with everyone, and no grandparents (and their damn pop-up). We wanted to show the kids what camping really is (and at 3, 4 and 5, Ginnie camping is as close as I will go with them). Jack (5) on several occasions turn to me and said "Daddy, this is the best day ever". Not to be out done, Logan (3) and I were sitting next to the fire when he turned to me and said "Daddy, that guy has a Santa beard". Yes Logan, that guy has a Santa beard.
The Galaxy dive was even more incredible than I remembered. When all the little dots washed over me it was that feeling you only get places like Disneyland as a kid... in an instant it became magical. I was actually smiling so hard my mask was leaking. :D I think we ended up with 117 good sticks. I say we take a collection and go for 250 sticks next year, and do it at the lips!
Sorry I was a little late with the Mexican dip... but it leaves more for me. :)
An apology to Lynn for not thanking her too. She was doing a lot with food and registration in addition to keeping Russell in line (and taking his scooter to the water.)
Thanks to everyone that helped in putting this together. This being my first social was so great that I know that it will not be my last one. The best part was meeting everyone and getting the chance to dive with several of you. Great conversations and diving with the Dayo family, Chip, Artic Mike, Trey, Forrest, Sandy and I could go on and on. Thanks for welcoming me and allowing me to help out where I could. A special thanks to Peter from Dayo for helping me out with my diving. To all of you from me, thanks again for a very fun time and I look forward to it this year.
It was great diving with you Tony.
Maybe next time I won't be so anti-social and might actually come to the Galaxy Dive. My buddy and I dove Devil's instead and had the place to ourselves.
BTW, If anybody is up at Peacock and notices the "JWS" cookie between Challenge and Olsen- it's between 400 and 500 on the Challenge side of the line- you can go ahead and pull it. I got sick and never had a chance to attempt to complete the traverse and I won't be back down for 2 or 3 months.
I've got many more pictures, but I just had to start with Russell and Lynn...

Thanks to all who helped organize the social it was great meeting everyone. Tj, thanks to you and Denise, you guys are great. I hope to get to see you all again soon.
Get out of the cold!!! And for God's sake, don't wear shorts to a CDF New Year's Eve Social. Only a fool does that.
Those were some awesome conversations we had around the campfire! Great to meet you Jim and be sure to give me a shout the next time you are in the area.

Cool picture of the bonfire. I'm the idiot wearing shorts freezing to death. And yes, I AM blurry in every picture taken.
Here is the link to photos taken by Billy Fowler:

They are quite big, and take a while to load, so we have a smaller res version in here :)
