Dive Rite Express

Dive Rite Express is the online handle of a real technical dive shop, Fill Express, in Pompano Beach. Yes, I have gotten air (actually EAN 27) fills there. Their shop is well stocked. Their staff is full of free advice. They are very good about returns on mail order gear. They also teach tech courses and set up tech charters.

I travel continuously (I work on a yacht), and so DRE has become my LDS. When I'm in Florida I stop by personally, and when I am traveling I use their online store. I actually purchased my CCR through them amongst other things. And I can only offer them the highest praises possible. I have never had a dud order for them and whenever I stop by the shop I feel right at home. Awsome service guys - Keep it up.

As for online shopping in general, there are not many LDS's that carry the vast spectrum of manufacturers and models as the online guys do. And to have such a variety to choose from is awesome. I have to confess that I have purchased things like wetsuits & fins from Liesurepro because they always have my size and color in stock. You can't beat that sorry to say. I have always had good service from them too.

LOL! Now that is sweet - too bad it only fills at 500 psi/minute. I think I'll wait until something faster comes out.

I'm wondering how many noticed that a flow restrictor can't be rated at "500psi/minute." I'm guessing not too many, as I've seen a lot of people who should know better use the term.

(A flow restrictor should be rated at a flow per minute, such as ten cubic feet per minute. How can it restrict flow to 500psi/minute? Can it tell whether it's hooked up to a six cubic foot pony bottle versus a two-thousand cubic foot storage bank?)

If you can get a fill via ethernet, then you can have a flow restrictor rated at 500psi/minute. :smt081 The Easter Bunny is bringing me one...so I should know!

The switch infrastructure isn't smart enough to measure volume... as it leverages variable length packet sizes broken up into psi.... so that 6 cuft bottle would be like cifs, a rather chatty exchange..., and the HP130 is streaming http...

Personally I liked the irony of "If you use a Dive Rite multi-gas dive computer, such as the NiTek™ X..."

I guess that's vaporware supporting vaporware...

I've done business with them in person. While I prefer to use my local shops, when you're out there, and you need it tomorrow, they are great to do business with.
