I think it's better explained as a series of images taken of the same scene, with each image having only a portion of the scene with the correct exposure. Hand-held lights are used to illuminate those sections of the scene which come out properly exposed. A composite of the scene is generated in, say Photoshop, by layering the separate images and selecting only those portions that are illuminated and hence properly exposed. Or something like that. A diver probably appears in every image, but is only properly exposed in the one where he himself is illuminated. I think Jill Heinerth and Curt Bowen, among others, use similar techniques.

Those of you with UW cameras and tripods can try this at home, perhaps by only taking a few shots and loading them into Photomatix: http://www.hdrsoft.com/

Don't worry, it'ld be an easy job to him, to sent the posters to Florida or to another states...!

And you're right, french caves are really beautiful, not all, but so many of them...! Some springs and some caves should be certainly in the top ten of the most beautiful caves of the world...!
If one day, some of you'ld come in France, it'ld be a great pleasure to me and a great honour to help you to discover the french springs...!

I hope your 'ld be comprehensive with my poor english. I'm better to dive than to speak and to write a fluent english...!
