'Stage Cave Diver' Course

I received a stage card as part of a DPV/Stage package deal. I covered stage diving as part of my full cave training and had several years of staging under my belt when I got the card, which, not surprisingly had a very low number on it.

I guess I'll hold onto it. You never know when Ginnie will start carding for stage bottles. :D

Unless you are in HUGE cave this is a great way to do some serious damage. I have seen it done by someone and had to wonder what he was thinking. This is not normal practice for any of the caves you are likely to be diving in, although it may work in open water - I don't know.

Manatee is one I can think of where you can haul a trailer full of stages, and you need them there!

Yeah I thought maybe there was some special technique to manage them without them banging on the cave ceiling, that they would teach you. ... But it looks impossible to me, (although I've never carried stages like that)

When I dove at manatee, we didn't have stages, and stayed right up close to the ceiling to avoid the flow. I can't imagine dragging a bunch of stages on a leash, forcing you lower in the main flow with all that drag! I guess that's why people get scooters :)
