Ooof. I hope not. Obviously not good for the victim in this case potentially(which is clearly the most important point) but also sets the park up for a lawsuit by the family.

Apparently the low battery warning has been sounding recently, too....

Edit: I see someone beat me to it - but yes, I've also heard that as well. Incredibly bad timing for it to go dead, if true.

And to add, CPR is indeed rarely effective without adding in the difficulty of removing scuba gear (from yourself or the victim), getting them out of the water, and starting to provide compressions (not to mention how exhausting it is to do quality compressions for any real length of time).

I think the chaos of the situation is what drove the cavern divers to pursue additional training when they get back home (they were tennessee divers).

I am VERY sad to even hear it hinted that the AED was not functional.

However, I AM LOVING the direction this post has gone.

I just checked with my friend the cavern diver, he said the AED was used and that it worked as it should.

I cant find any news articles/etc on this. Has the name been released yet?

Never noticed an AED at Peacock. At the very minimum, it should be included in all safety briefings. Where is it stationed? Could anyone please share a photo so that we know what to look for?

The AED at P1 is in front of the changing rooms, mounted on the wall facing the doorway as you go in.
