Best guess to your question as to how far they were in: ( and why )

TFP – 453’ ( done with extra stage)
ARY -52’ (turned due to amount of deco time buildup)
DN -73.8’ (turned cause is was just too darn dark in there )
WJ -218’ ( gave marker to buddy to place )
BAURLE – 14’ ( used garden hose hookah )
LAIRD -0 ( tossed marking in water when system was siphoning )
BK – 666’ ( ate at BK that day )
SP -365’ ( took a whole year to get that far )
DSM -834’ ( A.K.A…..BHH)

I usually put one on the line every time I take a leak! :D

Normally you will never find it a risk before you will get entangled. try again.

There are many places in small cave where the line is close to your body.

What if there were 3 teams in Cow Upstream (have seen it happen) and there were 3 gap lines run through the Not My Fault restriction? Would that be safer?

The current way the line is run through not may fault is fine for anyone with good line awareness and who simply "guides" the line with his/her hand.

As for the jumps off of the mainline in Cow, there are not that many and the line for them is now EASY to tell if it is not the mainline, both by visual reference and by feel. The mainline is now much thicker kermantle and not the standard 24 or 18 line that was back there.

The relining of Cow has been planned for quite sometime. It was decided that with new line going in it was a good time to remove some of the placed markers that had obviously been in the cave for quite some time.

I think Lee was merely posting this to have people contact him in order to get their arrows back and also to inform those that the arrows had been removed in case someone had expected them to still be there.

Ary, your point of intrest was about 1550ft into the cave, which will be easy to find now with the new markers every 100ft in the cave. I remember it because I knew that it was yours and that I knew who you were.

This is much better subj. Joe. I would rather switch topic to play the "what if" game for this cave since i know that Cow upstream is now visited by people two hours after they completed "full cave" class. IMHO both NotMyFault and the entrance duckunder restrictions are dangerous if you think about several unexperienced teams dealing with "stuck in restriction", "entangled and stuck in restriction", "shared air and entangled in restriction", etc. How about "entangled, in restriction, dropped second stage, swallowed couple times and lost consciousness" leaving another team beyond? Any way is it safe to have two teams beyond NotMyFault at the same time?

I'm not saying that line should be gaped in both restrictions i'm just speculating about possible scenarios to make sure that i shared what my sick imagination painted to me. Both restrictions normally (when system is diveable) have a high flow and gravel-sandy bottom, so silting even if occurs would be a momentary event. Do you see what i mean? Not familiar with cave might stop, never find a continuation, and return which might be in their best interest.
