I don't know how often Duncan gets on here so he can answer your question, but I'll hazard a guess:
Since sump diving is generally solo, I'm assuming he doesn't use a long hose.

Good call on the solo bit... i'd be interested to see a pic of duncan's config if he's got one... preferably one of him suited up in the water... if you've got one, lets set it!
Sludge... you live somewhat near Tally, right? Now that I'm actually living there I'll be around for some dives if you ever want to give it a whirl. I just got back from JB today and had a stellar dive... beautiful day to boot!

If you look under my avatar it says Southwest Georgia. But it's very west, but not too south. I'm 140 miles due north of Marianna.
I usually do JB two weekends a month, but both of my scooters are currently out of commission (but one or both may be back soon), so I'm going to spend Spring Break in PCB and dive the jetties if the vis is good. If the vis is bad, there's nothing like tooling around the panhandle on the CBR!

Actually both LP hoses to my 2nd stages are longer than standard in order to reach from the inverted cylinder to my mouth. The cylinders are not manifolded but run as independents.Quote:

I don't have boots on my tanks although a some dive shops in the UK will not fill cylinders which do not have boots on.
I'd have to check the law to be sure but I'm pretty sure it is illegal to "Reverse Mount" a Blond in most of Suwannee County. :smt018
Untill we find out further about that law, I'm going to continue to mount any blonde in any way possible regardless of DIR configuration. A dive is a dive.

You Rule I.C.D. AKA Matt.
Thanks for playing along. WoooHooo!!!! :-D
Cool. I like it. I was in the sub shop at JB which has a painting of firemen with inverted tanks on. My buddy and I thought that might work for us.
I recall seeing divers at Peacock back in the 80s with valve down configurations with cages around them for allowing them to stand them up in your vehicle or on the ground.
The Viking Divator was a pair of small twins with inverted valves. I suspect they never caught on due to their small volume. They did appear to be very compact though.
There are several rebreathers with inverted valves.
Firefighter's Scott Airpacks utilize inverted valves as well.

Some one else that uses inverted twins, although I think he now uses a rebreather most of the time.
