You would have a hard time doing "interstate commerce" in the run at Little River.

This is something that should not be challenged by cave divers, but by boaters. We could easily be made to look like complete a-holes for it. And you're right, there is no reason to challenge it when we already have easy access.

That would apply to many of Springs/Caves we enjoy. I have not been to Telford since the early 90's, but I hear its only accessable from the river now. So it sure is nice to have parking and stairs to get to Little River, but I hope River Access is not shut down.

Just another thought.. Does this just stop boaters from floating up into the spring head? So is there anything preventing you from tying up out away from the spring and just swimming to the cave?

The owners of Telford don't care if cave divers go in the cave. They closed the land access to prevent lawsuits. Technically the run at Telford isn't navigable either, but nobody wants to enforce that.

For example, the river entrance at Ginnie is definitely in a navigable waterway. The run, to the Eye entrance is different, you can't get a riverboat in there.

So yes, tie up out in the river.

There was one running right over the eye last Tuesday, I thought it was odd. It was pretty early though, only 2 of us in the parking lot and no one in the water.

Oh, btw... off topic, sorry, but just a quick question on river water things

I did a dive the day before and deco on the eye, that little ledge just above the sign, where we edge ourselves in, well, it was about 18-17 feet, then the next day in the morning it was 20-19, in the exact same spot, even raising my arm/computer to the roof I couldn't get 18 feet on the computer, it wouldn't even let me switch to O2, I had to come out to the bottom of the eye, in OW to do my deco. Then again in the afternoon, it was back to 18-17 feet, was my computer acting up? There are no tides that far inland, are there?

Nope, no tides. The river level has been steadily falling slowly for a week. It sounds like you need to get your computer checked.

When I had my Zodiac (with NY registration) I spent a week cruising the rivers of Florida, including Suwannee river. I know I stopped at Troy, and I "think" I stopped at Little River. That was a few decades ago before either was improved.


If I can dig up a photo of a NY registered power vessel in the Little River spring run, does that qualify?

Little river is open, and reasonably clear.
