Funny story: about a year ago, my buddy and I went to dive Telford. I entered the river at the boat ramp with my scooter. I ducked under and took off scootering. About 2 or 3 min later I popped my head to see how close I was getting. Problem was, I hadn't gone anywhere. I was still at the ramp and my buddy was standing on the shore laughing at me. The current was so strong, I didn't get anywhere. Nothing to do but laugh.

Ok back to the suggestions...

Little River. Not very deep but might be a good place to just try it in the open.

Ok, got it covered. The nice folks at Blue Grotto are gonna let me run the scooters around a little to test.
