When taking a dry cave tour in TN our guide told us that there are hefty fines/jail time for removing parts of the cave. Does Florida have this?

I read accounts of divers dragging folks out of caves or physically getting involved and I'm surprised it hasn't come back to bite anyone yet; Grabbing someone and moving them is kidnapping, maybe I'm uncaring but I would never risk a felony to save some idiot who means nothing to me.

Er.......is it not against the park rules to take lights in the water at Manatee/Catfish unless cave trained (not just cavern)? If not, it should be!

It amazes me how many accidents DO NOT occur, actually...shear dumb luck (been there, done that in my formative years).....
