You can get an older computer for less than a bottom timer, and you can change the batteries in them.

then one computer argues with the other, and you're left with just 1 after your first dive :) The uwatec won't lock you out.
There should be some Dive Rite Duos on the used market, That has a gauge mode if you find it does not match you primary computer.

NiTek he on one wrist, NiTek Plus on the other. For the once-in-a-blue-moon helium dive, the Plus works in gauge mode.
lI have a Hollis DG 02 and it works good as bottom timer, but I bend the you know what out of the thing when it is not in guage mode, but then it defauts to guage mode so it isn't a big deal.
