I don't care who you are, if its your first dive in a new system, and you're using a handheld(thanks for the clarification Jeff), do an evaluation dive before bringing the camera in... Its a simple matter of conservation that most professionals usually adhere to.

Why can I get called a jerk multiple times in a thread and it doesn't get censored, but if I tell someone to kiss my ass, I get a warning?

Jerk isn't offensive, Ass is, as is that other comment. You have to know this.
Personally I think your a nice guy and have quite a bit of knowledge, I don't want to see you go, but don't fall on your sword over this, it ain't worth it.

Jerk and Ass are just two different words used as an insult, I'm not sure why they're treated any differently.

Yes, but if enough moderators vote to ban you, there isn't much I can do about it. FWIW, a second ban will be a lot longer than a week.
