*** Virus / Trojan Horse ALERT ***

One nice thing about running my email on a Unix machine is that I'm immune to that crap. I can extract something without running it, have a look, etc.

I NEVER run an executable anything that comes via email. Never. There's no reason to do so. And I rarely, if ever, will run a URL "blind".

There are reasons to love character-mode mail readers. This is one of them.

That's what it did to my computer. Once I got it, Symantec took over a week for their Engineers to come up with an update to stop it. Problem is now. I will still have to reformat my drive. It came as a Trojan horse attached through a file that I emailed to myself from another computer. Last time I do that.

I recommend checking securityresponse.symantec.com before forwarding on any virus information. Most times, you find it's completely fake.

C'mon Dwain, I would have thought that you of all people would have known better than that. Scan everything, incoming and outgoing, and hope that you have all the latest updates :cry:

All of my files via disk and mail is automaticly scanned. Problem is... it was a Trojan. Imbeded in another file that was not even an .exe file. It sucks. I'll have to get my mac back up on line. TRhe only reason that I even use a PC is due to a school contract with the government.
