That part made me very angry but there were lots of nice new diver benches all over the park though. The two facts seemed so totally at odds with one another (the new time and the new diver benches). The new time seems like a directive from above.
We were actually planning a Peacock dive but decided that we'd have to dive somewhere else.
We went back after our Cow dive. Peacock Springs State Park was empty at 7:30 (probably by 6:30). We had talked to some divers at the fill station and they were rushing to get in by 4 so they could get some drills done and out of the water by 5.
I heard that they may be adopting Manatee Springs rules for all the state parks and also forbiding scootering at all the state parks as well. :evil:
It would have been better for the Peacock Springs rules to have become the model for all the parks: the only park that had any idea what they were doing in the first place and friendly to divers.
The rule to be out of the water by 5:00 pm is a state wide rule. Its been on the books for years. Tallahassee is having it enforced now.
What's P3 looking like?
5:00 pm makes sense in the winter, when it gets dark at 6, but in the summer we have to be out of the water FOUR HOURS before sunset? This makes no sense. But since I'm not a tax paying resident of Florida, I guess I don't have a voice.
