Dove P1 today. The basin is the clearest I've ever seen it. I mean clear clear. I was really surprised. Peanut was not bad at all, not crystal, but close. Pothole was a little bit murky, but not bad. It always seems a little less clear than Peanut anyhow. Lots of people there, a real who's who of cave daving :smt081. When we were leaving it was pouring so hard, there was actually a river running through the parking lot.

Lots of divers in P1 Basin in the morning, with most of the divers heading up the main line - vis in the 40'+ range with a lot of particulate in the water.
Did our second dive at Orange Grove in the afternoon. No other divers, just our group of three. Still very dark and with a deep tannin influence down to the 30' level. We tied a line to tree just a bit from the stairs as the vis. was around 10' till you got down to the big branches near the entrance. On the plus side, one we got into the cave the vis was great, very clear and with no other divers; nothing was stirred up at all. Just a bit more flow than my previous dives at OG - I guess this support the great vis. Rains just starting when we surfaced.
My buddy Chris and (Ed stayed in Lake City) stayed at a large trailer home right across from Amigos - the place is large with beds everywhere $25/person. Call Wayne for rental details.
Looking out the cavern it was still very tannic,you'll sure be impressed in a few months when it really clears up.Quote:
