'<<Scratchin' head>>....Ooops, I must be having a memory lapse here, b/cause my garments are 4th Element.....maybe 4th Arctic? Still too cold for the Pacific. Becky, how do you DO that?>
Jill Heinerth wrote me some of her "tips," including: wear high quality ski undies next to the skin; a "shorty thermal" under the main undergarment (hers is Dive Rite), double layer of hoods, and double gloving (a 1-2 mm glove turned inside out, ciovered with a lobster mitt). She wore these in the Ural Mts. where everything freezes on contact with air.
My biggest "warmth" accessory is a 12mm custom fit neoprene hood from Otter Bay Wetsuits in Monterey. Everyone out here wears 'em. They fit beautifully and cost little more than off-the-rack hoods (and are considerably thicker).
I had the Weezle for a few years and must admit that it probably was my warmest undie. However, it didn't like being laundered, so i didn't wash it much. Soon my dive buddies didn't speak to me....they still make jokes. :)
'Planning to look at the Santi in cave country (if the weather lets me get there). No dealers here who actually have it.
Stay warm, dry, and safe through those floods, everyone....
Best,
