Many of those houses they have no choice, it's the building code. That McMansion is in the 100 year flood plain I believe.

Makes for a nice carport for all your big toys though ;-)

no it stopped some 500ft from my front door... so we are ok..
I was kinda worried that it would wash all the sand out from underneath the house and
make it fall down... but we seem to have dodged the bullet at least this time :)

The Suwanee appears to have crested at Branford, a good bit below what was predicted. About the same as the 1984 flood.

They are still predicting a big flood at Manatee in a few days. I guess because the Sante Fe joins the Suwanee down river fron Branford.

Branford could be hit the worst in this whole thing. As the Sante Fe starts dumping huge amounts of water into the Suwannee it can actually cause the flow of the Suwannee river upstream of the Santa Fe to slow, sorta "back up or slow down".

But is the Santa Fe flowing that much water? Last I saw it was at drought levels before the rains.

On US 27, the Suwannee has flooded one mile west of the brigde in Branford along the south side of the road. That's a ****load of water

The park at the 47 bridge is under water. There is just enough room to turn in and make a u-turn. The rest is under water.

Latest report from the NOAA as of 11 am today shows the flood has crested in Branford and is the level is dropping.
