Side note... Not that I'm in the realm of training to dive it but it has fascinated me! 400'+ if I recall correctly. I'm guessing someone has the salvage rights due to the permit being required. Any footage of the dive? There are very few videos of dives on it.Quote:

Pullnglide: The wreck is owned by Simon Mills, but because the wreck is in Greek territorial waters permits are secured through the Greek Ministry of Culture, at least they were in 1999 (department of Underwater Antiquities). I hired a local attorney with a good reputation in the maritime industry and familiar with the local bureaucracy and he secured it quite quickly.
There is footage of the wreck on the GUE website from 99.
If you doubt that these divers have the document in question, which I assure you they do, you can petition GUE's QC Department to verify that they do. This however will not yield the document for your review. It will go to the QC Director, he will see the document, and respond to you that "yes, they have the document." However, you will not get the permit itself or the write up that secured it so that you can annoy the authorities and potentially make access even more difficult. Frankly, there are many reasons why permits are withheld or granted and why some are privileged and some are not. Sometimes it is as simply as personalities.
I thought for sure a group of top GUE instructors were sneak diving this cave and posting pics on Facebook to brag about it.

If you can help, all that is needed is the date and protocol number which would be next to the stamp stating "Registro de Sortida" on this supposed License printed and signed on the Dirección... official letterhead.
You should however be aware that this type of diving in ZEC caves which is purely for tourist and entertainment purpose is not legal or welcome in the island, although some are clearly profiting from it and promoting it.
It will lead to problems and tighter controls.
"Has to follow?" Really? You are being naive. Public authorities often make decision in idiosyncratic ways. The last thing I would do is help you piss them off by leveraging a document that you have no right to. As for the type of diving they are doing you really have no first hand knowledge of what they intend to do with the footage they are gathering. And from what I understand there are divers there diving "for fun" and that the local community is very welcoming, so it appears what is lawful or not or wanted is subject to some debate.
With all due respect, but have you considered that perhaps there is another reason why you are having difficulties? Have you come into conflict with someone with local influence?

I think you're misunderstanding the problem here. The gov. agency has no right to pick and chose who get a permit. It's not about who is buddies with who. The cave are public, the agencys that are running the show get tax payer money. There has to be a transparent process as to how you can get a permit.Quote:

From my perspective something is fishy here, it's a project than it's not a project, GUE posts this on their facebook but doesn't have anything to do with it, the gov. agency say that their not giving out permits...
All I asked in the OP is if anyone knows anything about this as it seemed weird to me. And still nobody has told me why this is not OK to ask, all I get is condecending comments form the DIR fanboys.
Damn straight he's right. Here, in Europe, government officials have to abide by the law. They can't just do what they want. If they give out a permit to somebody because they're buddies or because he's getting money, that's corruption. You can't privately lobby for a government permit.
