Bartow Sink
I came across a picture of a place called Bartow Sink showing a very deep sinkhole with an individual being lowered into the opening (http://www.pbase.com/floridageologic...image/64767958). I am making a leap of faith here that Bartow Sink is near Bartow, FL. I was curious if this related to or was near Kissengen Spring in Bartow which dried up in 1950 (see before and after pictures at ftp://ftp.dep.state.fl.us/pub/geo/we...dix_c_polk.pdf).
Anyone know where Bartow Sink is?

From the FGS (and other sites) the sinkhole was found in 1963. There is nothing in the Florida sinkhole database that syncs up with Bartow and 1963. there are a few things that are close if you want to dig and google.
For google maps, just include the lat (decimal) and long (decimal) in the search box.

Thanks Walter. I found a website with various pictures of the sink at creation (http://ibistro.dos.state.fl.us/uhtbi...rtow+Sink+(Fla.)). I'm just suprised as how deep the sink appears in the picture (along with the hole in the bottom) I originally mentioned. The pictures of the sink's formation don't do it justice.
I looked at the google map location with the coordinates you mentioned, but only found an empty field. I must be missing something (sadly, a common occurrence with me...)
