Is Osgood Sink near Tallahassee open for diving? Thanks.
then no I dont think its open.
But Osgood won the Cup!
I dove the basin of this thing years ago in my advanced open water class. I'd really like some info on the cave itself also. I recall seeing the opening, etc. What kinda dive is it like? Come on Nick, give up the info. What's it like in there? dark? haha
I was in Tallahassee this past weekend, and the LDS said it was still closed to diving. I did stop by Cherokee Sink, which the ranger said it was open to diving. I'm not sure what other sites are open to divers in the Tallahassee area. Made me long for the '70s when there was lots of open dive sites. Sigh.
Thanks for the offer. I'd love to tour the area again. There was a dive shop in Tallahassee back in the '70s called Carter's Sporting Goods. They published a 12 page booklet called "Carter's Dive Shop Gude to Diving Locations in the Big Bend Area of Florida." It lists descriptions and driving instructions to lots of the sites I used to visit, but from what I understand most are now closed to diving. Other than Cherokee, what other dive sites are readily available in the Tallahassee area?
Don't recall the name of the LDS. It was located on Apalachee Pkwy past Governor's Mall, and had an attached kayak store.
