Is it too hard to walk the rivers edge and slip in?Id love to dive it again.
Over New Years' weekend several friends went to the end of the road and got in at the boat ramp, scootered up the river to the spring run, and left the scooters in the cavern while they did a swim dive. I went with them and watched them enter the water, but didn't join them. It looked like WAY too much work.
I figure walking up the river would be even more complicated.
Telford will be open soon enough...
Can someone explain what the current issue is with land access to that system?
The best way we have found to get there is to just put our kayaks in at the boat ramp and paddle down. It really isn't that far, that way you don't use up your gas getting to it.
JJ, it's posted No Trespassing!!! Large carproof steel gate....Ken
Nevermind
Okay, further explanation is warranted.
I used to get down to cave country about once a month. I would dive all the usual systems, including Telford. But for several reasons, I have been going to cave country only twice a year for the last several years. I do a lot of diving in the panhandle, since it's over a hundred miles closer to me.
If I were still going to cave country monthly I would make the effort to dive Telford by river. But since I go so infrequently, Peacock, Orange Grove, Little River, Cow, Devil's, Hart and Manatee are plenty of sites for a long weekend.
