Anyone have any good maps of those areas? Also there appeared to be two ways ( Jumps) into that area. Which one is the old and new and what are the advantages of each? If you do not feel like a public post feel free to PM me. Its an interesting area with lots of jumps and lots of clay was my first impression.
I've heard confusing stories about the deep sections names being reversed, aparantly the new section was discovered 1st, but the names were changed around because the way to small creek used to be the main pasageway and when they did the maps the way we know now was mapped and therefore the old was thought to be the new and the old the new......
To avoid confusion, i refer to them as the closer/shorter or the farther/longer deep sections.
And last time i went in there (jan) they were both T's, no jumps, apart from the one jump from the mainline....
The Rick Gunter Map has the best representation to figure out what that area "looks" like. I think they have some at CEE.
There's one small problem with Rick's map (some may call it a large problem): at one point he put in a 90° turn that doesn't exist.
He did this to make the map fit on the paper. :clapper

I've been past the rooms but not into them. I never have a lean enough mix when I go there. Are they worth a visit?
Here's a video of Small Creek. I'm done with arguments that by posting this I'm destroying it so please don't even go there. It's very narrow and very silty, but boy is it gorgeous! IMHO this is a sidemount only passage.

Look at the silt on the way back. I'm going to claim that's mainly percolation. Seriously, the viz drops fast in this section.
Cool video. I did my first foray into the deep section a few weeks ago since I had some helium left over. I wouldn't do it on Nitrox I think a little helium goes a long way in there.Quote:

The Old Deep basically runs underneath the Dome Room. Both the New and Old Deeps are usualy sources of clear water to the system.
The line into Small Creek passes goes over a clay floor and low ceiling that is too tight for backmount. The flow coming from Small Creek is also often a contributer to poor vis in the system - but that depends on a lot of factors. Generally messing with the clay bank heading into Small Creek will destroy the viz not just in that passage but also everywhere downstream.
The Old and New deep are both rocky and about a wide as they are high. Both reach just short of 125' depth. If you discover that you are in a low, wide area with clay on the floor you're probably in Small Creek and all the exits and other tunnels are back the other way.
The clay bank at the entrance of Small Creek moves from time to time so it is possiable to end up in Small Creek without encountering a serious clay blockage. In that case the tunnel seems a little like the New Deep - except it goes on forever.
