Yes, excellent talk. Kakuk's a great public speaker and this talk would be a great addition to this year's CDS Seminar. His talk included a little bit of adventure and a lot of science. He didn't get bogged down in cave diving technique/equipment and provided a nice overview of the different types and formation of the Bahamas caves. He's working closely with scientists from Texas A&M and Univ. of Miami, has a species of blind cave fish named after him, and discovered a new species of extinct tortoise from the Bahamas. Apparently, there's a lot of anthropological work going on that's hush-hush. It'd be nice to have a special issue of, say Advanced Dive Magagzine, based on his overview.Quote:
