Computer Software for logging dives
Hello Everyone,
Due to the urging of several friends I have decided to put my computer software for logging dives on the internet for sell. I dabble with a little computer programing and originally wrote this program in the 80's to run under DOS. I recently rewrote it for the Windows format.
It is a basic computer program to log your dives with instead of using a paper dive log. It has a number of search options as well as keeping track of different dive statistics. You can download an evaluation copy which will allow you to log up to 10 dives to see if you like the program. If you decide you like the program you can buy it off my website for $10.95 - I am going to donate the proceeds of any sells to the Cave Diving Museum. If you have an interest check it out at the following website.

Yes, it will sort by date regardless of the order you put them in. You also have the ability to change the order of any dive by clicking on a dive in the display list and dropping it where you want it. All dive numbers affected by this will automatically be renumbered to correspond with the new order of dives. The test program comes complete with help screens to explain what can be done.

Can it print on the standard 5.5"X8.5" three hole notebook paper, like Sheck used in his logbook. At one time, the NSS-CDS sold logbooks that used that size paper.
Sorry, it only prints on standard US Letter size. However, if people like the program and it sells well then that is certainly an option that can be added. I believe that some printers will allow you to change their settings so that you can choose different size paper and the printer will automatically format for that paper. I don't know if that will work as I have not tried it. I did include in the program the ability to access your printers settings through the print options. I guess one could try it and see if it works.

Now if it could just scan in my old logbook....
Wouldn't that be great for those who have 100's if not 1000's of dives. With optical scanners it might be possible to scan the notes from a dive and paste them into the notes section of each dive. That would save some time. When I originally wrote the program in 1982 I only had 10 years worth of dives to log into the program. It took a few days but it was interesting. It forced me to actually go back and read my dive log.

Guys I ran into the proper print size issure with other programs. There is a print program out there call FinePrint that is share ware I think that will allow you to change the size and type print you want. I think installs as a print driver so you can turn it on and off by selecting the printer. It should fix that issue for you Forest or anyone else that needs a custom size print.
