Ginne closed for the weekend

Just a reminder, Ginnie closes to divers for the weekend starting tomorrow (thursday). I had planned to go tomorrow and totally forgot

I was going too -- called them to confirm this morning......blech....

Is this a new thing at Ginnie?

This is the second-ish year of it... they close to diving for Memorial Day Weekend because it's absolutely insane there... this weekend is their "biggest" weekend of the year.

They are normally open to diving on (most) other weekends, however, since COVID it's been almost Memorial Day insane there on Summer weekends.

Glad I posted. I totally forgot until this morning. It would have sucked to show up tomorrow and get turned away.

Best to stay away from Ginnie during Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends anyway. The absolute madness that occurs just isn’t conducive to diving.

Read your post too late. Drove up today from orlando, just to be told no diving until Tuesday. I was PO.
Needless to say the site was a quagmire.

This is a shame, cave divers and Ginnie Natives have enjoyed a symbiotic relationship over the years. Like the time they needed a beer funnel, and a cave diver was able to help out.
