Not a fan of diver shaming, but this is more than I can take... Why is it that these people think it's a cool thing to stick a gazillion people in the Ginnie ballroom cavern one over the other and release huge quantities of toxic/carcinogenic glow stick sludge polluting the cavern and anything downstream? Also, zero COVID-19 awareness either. This is the same group that used to organize scooter races at Eagle's Nest, right? :?

Technically a night dive in a cavern is a cave dive. Unfortunately what will stop it will be someone panicking, and drowning, because I don't see Ginnie policing these activities. Things like this get reported as cave diving, and makes the community more defensive against cave divers. My biggest concern are the free divers entering caves that post their videos on You Tube. They have a light but no other redundancy, and when an accident does occur, it will be a cave diving incident.
Just call it a protest and you don't have to worry. Maybe they torched the front office on the way out so it is all cool.Quote:

It doesn’t seem like Ginnie is policing anything anymore. I’m slowly becoming disgusted with them. If you saw the number of people they had in the park by 8:15 his past Sunday it would scare you. I’ve been to Ginnie on every major holiday weekend. This Sunday beat them all. We signed in, drove halfway to the spring run and decided to leave. There was zero effort by anyone there to social distance and Ginnie made no attempt to enforce it. They seemed to be at max capacity, which during these times just shouldn’t happen. I could easily see Ginnie getting shut down.Quote:

Covid doesn't go away by hiding in the closet or wearing a mask. It only goes away when there's either a vaccine or a large percentage of the population has already been infected. I don't see any vaccine. What's the problem with letting those who accept the risk go the herd immunity route? Really they're doing everyone else a favor and speeding up the timeline for getting back to normal.

Did you think that one of the reasons could be that the Hospitals cant handle everyone having the virus at the same time and by slowing the spread they can treat more people over time?Quote:

The problem is that most experts believe you need about 70% of the population to have been exposed to get true herd immunity. We have about 2 million cases now, that would mean we would need about 200 million people to have been exposed in the US. With the current morbidity rate, that means over ten million deaths in the process, but even if the morbidity rate is cut by 50%, that's still about 5 million.Quote:
