Conditions at Ginnie?
I am going to be in Florida this Thursday thru next Tuesday and haven't finalized any real plans. I am starting off at my place in Key Largo, but right now the wave/wind conditions are looking a bit "sporty".
I am flying out of Orlando, so a quick trip up to High Springs is more than possible if I get blown out from Ocean diving. What's Ginnie looking like recently.
Thanks,
Jeff

Dove it last week and it was great, flow down, vis great. Diving it again this week and will update. Not using the Ear; too much river out there.

Looks like the water level is dropping a bit. Flow is so low that you can actually swim thru the lips. Here are a few shots from this morning. Take a look at the semi-flooded road from Turkey Roost. What a trip seeing fish swim across it this morning,

I dived Ginnie today. Devil's Eye is open. Flow is down, but not very much. The return trip is still a thrill ride.
Even on a weekday, tubers outnumber cave divers.
Sometime since last spring a grim reaper sign has been installed 50 feet into the eye. I found a (permanent temporary?) line going from there to the goldline.
I camped at Ginnie last night. Half of the campsites are flooded. Surprisingly, horseflies are more of a problem than mosquitoes.

Still good. There is flow but it's way down from normal -- as noted Ripley above you can swim through the lips (never did find my sunglasses) -- in fact pull-and-glide isn't necessary anywhere at the moment (although it helps getting in to the Gallery). Might be a tiny bit milkier than it was a week ago back in there a ways, but not enough to impair the visibility noticeably -- just seemed to catch my light a bit more. It's nice not to have to pull yourself in by your teeth and get bounced out like a pinball.

Been diving Ginnie the past couple days. Flow is barely noticeable, swam through the lips without effort, barely any push on way out. Vis is pretty good.
