Cow Springs 9/29/13
This is just going to be a quick report (for now anyway), as I know a few people were curious about conditions. Made the last dive of the day on Sunday at Cow with Carlos (Rakkis). We met Steve (Whodunit 68) and Snakedoc as they were leaving, and Steve did say the flow was up.... What he didn't say was HOW MUCH the flow was up! Visibility was an easy 40', but there was a bit of particulate in the water. However, the flow made it a really interesting dive. The ski rope was in demand, and required hand over hand and some finning to make headway. I'd say the flow was heavier than Ginnie, and more along the lines of JB.... Still had a great dive, and then went to play downstream for a bit at the end of the dive. If you head downstream in the near future, the siphon is a lot more pronounced than normal. I decided not to venture into the vertical fissure crack, as it may have made exiting "interesting"....
That's my take, maybe Steve, Snakedoc, or Carlos will post their experiences...

We're pretty close....the flow was higher than I'd experienced in Cow in my 15 or so times there over the last few years. My buddy and I were both diving 85s and have similar RMVs...we turned at about 800 psi of gas usage at ~150' past Not My Fault. I'm not sure the viz was 40' - I'd call it 25'....and there was a lot of particulate in the water. We entered shortly after a team of 4 exited. We also started downstream after our upstream dive and also felt quite a nice siphon. I got to the line and we decided to turn around since we had no deco and the fight back wouldn't have been interesting to us.

Anyone have a more current report for Cow?
Thanks

I was just there on Wednesday. I would say visibility is around 50 ft maybe a little more. It was pretty clear. More clear than Peacock for sure. There was some particulate in the water. The flow was pretty strong but very manageable. It was a very pretty dive.

Just went there on Friday. Even better than my last report. :-)
