How about a third choice? "Just like reality TV, it is idiotic and entertaining. Keep it open for the sheer sock* value of what will happen next". That's my vote.
*note - this word should have been shock, not sock. But one of the Shirley's likes sheer socks, so we will keep it. Although I am sure 5 out of 6 Shirley's will agree that shocks can be fun as well.
Or "don't like it, don't read it. As long as some users want to participate, why stop them just because others don't like it?" And what JamesK said :) I love sheer socks :)
