Thank You Steve Gamble

I am certain that people who are successful in business' that deal with the public are typically "nice" and "accommodating." But every once and a while, people go above and beyond without hope for profit.

Diane and I have been hosting some cave diving friends from Australia and they were helping me tackle a new neck seal on my Dive Concept Tri-Lam. No amount of heat was releasing the seal and tape (they go down to the tri-lam in their part of OZ... in Michigan we are a bit sloppier and just glue over the old seal)...

On a whim, I called Steve Gamble and Marianne answered the phone (at 4:30 in the afternoon on New Years Eve no less)... I just wanted to ask if this was typical for a Dive Concept suit.

What extraordinarily nice people! She spoke to me for several minutes and then Steve picked up and gave me more advice than I could have ever expected or hoped for from someone who was, in essence, telling me how to do it myself. At the end of the conversation he told me I could call back until 6PM.

What a nice way to go into the New Year!

I took my suit to Steve and he told me my suit sucked. He was right but he still did an awesome job replacing the neck seal.

I'll go back there any and every time I have a problem with a suit.

Steve does great work.

In full class my buddy tore a seal and my zipper started leaking on a two hour dive. Not good!
We went to Steve's house at 4 pm and he not only fixed our suits that night, but dried them and
dropped them off at Ginnie the next morning at 8 am. I cannot say enough good things about
he and his awesome wife.

Steve and his wife are awesome.

Not to put too fine a point on it - but if something happens to Steve, we're screwed.

What suit was that?

I have not ever heard anyone say something negative about Steve Gamble.

But my experiences with him has been "uncomfortable"

Years ago, just before my GUI I cave class, I had Steve put knee pads on my dry suit. They were the laugh of the class. Really big and they peeled off easily. We thought they were the extreme of a joke by Steve to an inexperienced diver.

The few times I spoke with him at meetings, I always thought Steve thought I was not a diver worthy of his respect.

To this day, I'll ship to California or Illinois for dry suit repairs.
But my dive buddy believes Steve is great.

Wow, you ship to California and those of us in California ship to Steve. When we were back there on a cave trip, one of my buddies tore a wrist seal. He fixed it while we ate lunch and we missed one dive. He has our business forever. Nice dude too.
