Im thinking the bedding plane is wide enough for 2 divers side by side, but the diamond sands restriction should be where they turn the dive correct? Im thinking if they decided to make it thru that they could wall it out on 6ths.

There are enough rock projections that two people side by side will start that way,but won't last long. I really think that this cave dive is beyond the intent of intro/basic. Sidemounting has been known as an advanced cave diving specialty, but now with the advent of commercialized rigs it has become common, and instructors to keep up with market pressures will teach in sidemount configuration. Please note there is a difference in sidemount configuration and sidemounting-one is diving tanks on your side, but diving like a back mounter; the other is an advanced skills like tank removal, negotiating restrictions, communicating being stuck to your buddy etc etc.
Hence,is an intro diver in sidemount really ready for bedding planes and restrictions.
I teach a lot of cave students in sidemount and the way I see it is if a backmount diver can't dive it because it's too small then it's not within the limitations of an intro/basic cave diver.
Going through the bedding plane might be marginal, but Diamond Sands is certainly a more significant challenge. Even in SM it requires (at least it did for me) a push/pull squeeze to get through. Of course, thinner divers might have less of a challenge.

Im pretty skinny and found that turning sideways on my right side and lifting my left tank a bit worked fine. Im glad thats sand there and not silt.
