This poll was on the decostop from squirrel girl and thought it would be interesting to get a feel for user composition there vs here. Plus i need to get some wreck diving behavior info and need to figure out which site would work better or to use both. Thanks for your input. Bill

Hmm, wouldn't it be a no brainer that we're pro-cave???
There are wreck as well. When i looked at the data from your tds poll about 50% indicated a response suggesting both. So at tds the distribution was 33% wreck only, 50% both, and 15% cave. I am interested in the distribtion here and yes it should be skewed toward cave. Sorry if i should have asked your permission but gave you a credit in the opening post. BillQuote:

Hi guys and gals. Love both cave and wreck! Just got back from a 10 day trip to Chuuk (Truck Lagoon) but I'll be back in FL when I get a chance.
Yes i did not vote right away, i'm a both that prefers cave. It is the cave diving forum but i know a lot of people here that also dive wrecks and was curious about the actual numbers. What im really after is the reef/wreck distribution from those that do occasionally or quite often wreck dive in southeast florida and the keys and their reef/wreck preference for a 2 tank boat dive. But I live in a cave challenged area at least to me right now so I spend summer months diving wreck in the Great Lakes.
I am currently trying to plan a Trimix coarse into the summer but it is not looking good.
My plan is to come to Florida for it and then as always sneak some cave dives in!
That and the class up here in the north is far more pricey.

You need another option: "I did one wreck dive, and only do cave now" :-)
I certainly lean towards the caves but I find myself in the Boston area so am thinking about the local wrecks once it warms up a bit. I'll be in Florida in May for some diving (hopefully finally finish Full Cave!) and the NSS-CDS workshop but after that I'll probably look at a few NE wrecks. From looking at the depths, Trimix is a gotta-have cert with boats regularly diving 170'+ in these waters.
Not to mention cold, current, low-vis, and heavy seas. Oh well...

That's where i learned to dive in the late 70s. Some great diving on the North Shore, especially Cape Ann. The Chester Poling is not very deep (130 to the bottom) and some nice rocky coast shore dives are possible (Cathedral Rocks behind the Emerson Inn in Rockport). Warmer water if you head south of Cape Cod and the U853 is off Point Judith in RI. BillQuote:
