Question about dry caves
Hey Y'all. I am going to be in Charlotte North Carolina for a few days at the end of March and I am wondering if there are any dry caves to go check out while I am up there.
I am taking the family so I need something like a tourist cave. The only thing I can think of comparable would be Ruby Falls in Tennessee.
Got any ideas?

I don't know of anything in NC. Lost Sea, Sweetwater, TN may be the closest. Lost Sea is a nice commercial cave, and it has a lake that was been dived several times.

Charlotte is a ways from the nearest limestone. Your best bet would be to head towards East Tennessee (like Forrest said) if you're really itching to get underground, but why not enjoy the Blue Ridge while you're there? Charlotte is real close to some super nice mountains and nice hikes.
Otherwise, if you make it any further north on 77, we have plenty of caves in Virginia. It'll take you about 4 hours to get to the nearest ones, though.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm sure we will just end up going into the mountains. I was just kinda hoping to check out cave while I was up there.
