Dry-suit Diver's...

Hi all,
I would like to report a lost object, it's been seen at many different locations (Cenotes) and nobody is claiming it back!!

It comes in various forms, either on its own used, right on the kitting up table in Tajma Ha or just its wrapping on the floor at Ponderosa or Minotauro...

ps:this is not directed at only the divers from abroad, it is addressed to all and mainly dry-suit divers using p-valve. Thank you for your understanding.

It is funny, but sad at the same time. You would think caverdives would realize leaving trash outside the cave is as bad as leaving it inside the cave.

It's mine, I'm sorry - my bad... Oh wait it's a 29mm and I use 44s - must be someone else's. :D

Seriously though I agree they have no business being left as litter and the fact that they are strongly suggests any expressed concern for "conservation" is nothing more than talk.

From a practical standpoint it is easier to just put them on in the morning before you even leave for the site. And, as trash cans are often not located every where, if I swap one out in the middle of the day for some reason, I just throw the bag and cucaracha hat in my car and then clean them all out several weeks later.

i'll vouch for that - i'm sure there are four to five in the deeps of his car right now.

In addition to this....

Someone told me a long time ago that the rubbish bins at the cenotes should not be used as the contents were being dumped in the jungle. I have no idea how true it is but I make a point of keeping taking everything back with me.

Some cenotes 'empty' the trash more frequently than others. At times it can be very unsightly.

My effort is a drop in the ocean at a site like Taj with so many cavern divers, but somewhere like Minotauro, I think it really is best to take everything home.

I try to keep the number of old caths in the car down to one or two...

Well, as the culprit is not cought red handed, the only possible action is to use the media -CDF- to relay the info.
You are right on, if no trash, then better keep it in your pocket or car and keep (??) or dispose later!

Like Alan says, the "care-taker" does not empty the bins where he should and as often as necesary>

Like we most do, keep your trash with you!

I walked into a drug store and asked if they had condom catheters. The Pharmacy Tech (and I use the term very loosely) came out with a selection of foley catheters. It's one of the few times I have been truly scared by something cave diving related. Ain't no way I'd ever do THAT.
