Great, thanks FW! Thinking about diving it tomorrow, and when I mentioned it to another diver, he thought it would be flooded. I thought it'd stay clear, but thought I would check :)
Never heard of Jugg flooding, much less reversing, in my 38 years of c-diving.
Any one else know of the opposite...if so, it must have been a GIGANTIC flood, like the one that almost covered the interstate near Lake City back in the 70's....and even then, as the aquifers were in much better shape, volume-wise, I doubt if it backed up the Santa Fe enough to flood all the way back up the Itch, considering all the other springs besides Jugg and the headspring pushing back.
We were there on Sun. 1/31/10. Vis as usual was 100 ft flow still pretty strong at cave entrance squeezed through diamond sands restriction but buddy had hard time getting through so we turned the dive. My favorite dive hopefully I can find another sidemounter who can squeeze through so I can go further in the system.
Cantey also neglected to mention he's built like an 8 year old girl.
I'm definitely NOT built like an 8 year old girl, but I can wiggle through there in 108's with no problem (no, you don't need 108's to hit the EOL there!). Dump all your wing gas, turn sideways, lift up on the left tank (on the way in), and in you go!
Coming out, the rock always wants to play with me, grabbing various bits and bobbles, as if to say "Ya know, I might just keep you here to play!"....but she never does for long. ;)
rrosepiler, let me know when you'd like to go back. I'm hip for another trip in before the "season" ends.
